Ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances
Telesa | Zambia | "My favourite possession is my pumpkins because I like to eat them and I can sell them to support my family." This series documents ordinary people living in the extraordinary circumstances of extreme poverty in the rural communities of Malawi, Zambia and Togo. Each subject's environment is extraordinary in that they are expected to live on less than a couple of dollars a day. Many dressed up for the occasion of having their portrait taken, sometimes borrowing clothes from friends. Each is depicted with their favourite possession and shared why it is important to them.
