Drawing on Homi Bhabha and Edward Soja's theoretical text of Third Space, my current practice is a process of examining my self-identity through the form of landscape. By reflecting upon the sense of being in-between of two cultures and two places, and investigating the role of ink and graphite played in artistic practice in both Chinese and the Western art history, my work seeks a way to open up a space for cultural and tempo-spatial imagination through a new vision of landscape.
