Drawing on Homi Bhabha and Edward Soja's theoretical text of Third Space, my current practice is a process of examining my self-identity through the form of landscape. By reflecting upon the sense of being in-between of two cultures and two places, and investigating the role of ink and graphite played in artistic practice in Chinese and Western art history, my work seeks to open up a new vision of landscape for cultural and tempo-spatial imagination.
